Our story: the soul of Hotel Rural Villa María
Behind every stone wall and wooden beam at Hotel Rural Villa María lies over a century of memories, tradition, and hospitality in the heart of Fuentes de Béjar (Salamanca).
Our story is that of a historic manor house with character that has adapted to modern times without losing an ounce of its original essence.
From the 20th century to today: restoring a historic manor
Built in the early 20th century, this house belonged to a local family and was part of the village’s traditional landscape for decades. Over the years, we undertook a careful restoration project with a clear goal: to preserve traditional, noble architecture while creating a peaceful retreat for today’s traveler.
During the restoration, we maintained the authentic elements of local architecture:
- Noble stone walls: providing character, natural insulation, and a cool atmosphere in summer and warmth in winter.
- Rustic wood finishes: restoring the warmth of ancient village homes to every room.
- Spacious and bright areas: designed to offer maximum thermal and acoustic comfort to our guests.
Tradition, warmth, and textile history in Sierra de Béjar
Hotel Rural Villa María is not just a historic building; it is a family project dedicated to making you feel at home. We believe in slow travel, inviting you to chat by the lounge, enjoy a peaceful morning with breakfast made from local products, and contemplate the silence of the mountains.
Furthermore, staying in Fuentes de Béjar allows you to immerse yourself in a region rich in identity: this area holds great historical and cultural interest due to its important textile industry, a centuries-old tradition that turned the region into one of Spain’s most prominent cloth-making centers.
Strategically located between Sierra de Béjar, Sierra de Francia, and the Jerte Valley, we take pride in being the meeting point for travelers seeking to disconnect from routine and discover the history, culture, and nature of Castile and León.
